Abstract

The following works are presented in performance edition:

Sanctorum Meritis RV620

The abundance of attempts to catalog the sacred vocal music by Vivaldi have perpetuated inaccuracies, inconsistencies, and other weaknesses. An inventory presented as an appendix to the present study is intended to present more complete and correct information concerning the sacred vocal music by Vivaldi than is presented in any one previous inventory.

The purpose of this study was to make available performance editions of these nine works by Vivaldi. The works are diverse in both performance media and length. Represented are smaller-scale works in single movements for vocal solo, strings, and basso continuo. Also represented are works on a larger scale including a work in eight movements for two vocal solos, chorus, double chorus of strings, oboe and basso continuo.
