This thesis explores the integration of Feng Shui spatial-planning concepts and sustainable interior design principles to enhance the design of classroom and studio environments in higher education. The study focuses on the application of circulation flow (interpreted from Chi) and the Bagua Map zoning method as organizational tools to improve circulation, spatial clarity, comfort, and environmental balance within learning spaces.A survey-based methodology was employed to gather students’ perceptions of classroom layout, lighting, seating, and environmental comfort, as well as their preferences for materials, furniture, and natural elements. Sustainable design applications will include the use of lighting systems which are energy efficient, incorporate natural daylight, and select low-VOC, ecofriendly materials in order to enhance indoor air quality. The research analyzes these findings to develop evidence-based design guidelines that merge Feng Shui concepts with sustainable interior design strategies, promoting both psychological well-being and functional efficiency. The results demonstrate that applying Feng Shui principles alongside eco-friendly and ergonomic design interventions creates classrooms that enhance student focus, creativity, and overall academic performance. The study provides a practical framework for interior designers and academic institutions seeking to design classroom learning environments that are balanced, sustainable, and conducive to optimal educational outcomes.
